23.03.10 - “European Truck Customer 2010” survey now underway

Brussels / Munich / Zurich, 23 March 2010 – How satisfied are fleet operators, haulage companies and drivers with their vehicles and the services that go with them? What purchasing criteria do they apply in selecting vehicles, trailers and services? Which offers would they like to see in the future from the OEMs? These and other questions on buying behaviour and customer satisfaction will be answered by the “European Truck Customer 2010” survey. The study aims at determining the view of European commercial vehicle customers and to discuss the results constructively and critically with the various providers.

The survey is being conducted online in 16 European countries and can be accessed now at www.truckcustomer.de or www.truckcustomer.com. All participants will receive a brief result summary this summer. Respondents will also have the possibility to take part in a raffle with many attractive prices.

The survey is being conducted by Oliver Wyman in cooperation with Europe Net and Pleon C-Matrix. Europe Net, the pan-European network, offers assistance and mobility solutions for OEMs and service providers in 39 European countries. The shareholders are ADAC (70%), ÖAMTC (20%) and ACI Global (10%). Also active throughout Europe, the Oliver Wyman management consulting firm has many years of experience in the commercial vehicles sector. In 2006 it began the “Truck Customer” survey in Germany to systematically ascertain the needs of commercial vehicle customers. In the meantime, the study, which is conducted every two years, has become a respected industry standard. The “European Truck Customer 2010” survey is breaking new ground in taking a pan-European perspective. The other partner in the survey is communications consultancy Pleon C-Matrix, part of Europe's largest PR network, KetchumPleon.

The initial results of the survey will be presented on 22 June 2010 at the “Truck Customer Needs 2010 – a Challenge for the OEM and Service Providers” industry event staged by Europe Net. For more information visit www.europenet24.com. The final results will be unveiled at the 63rd IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover.
